Who We Are
The primary school division was founded in 1948, shortly after India’s independence, and has operated under the Himachal Pradesh Department of Education. PM SHRI Government Centre Primary School Portmore is a premier co-educational primary institution under the Central Government’s PM SHRI upgrade initiative. Located in Shimla City, in a beautiful, multi-story structure with red roofs and yellow walls, it provides modern foundational learning.

Our Journey
1948
School Started
Began with one room and one teacher for the neighbourhood children.
1985
New Building
A permanent school building with four classrooms was built.
2012
Pre-Primary Added
Early childhood classes started alongside Classes I to V.
2025

A digital learning corner and library nook were set up.
